Ben and Kylie’s Destination Wedding at Gather On Maui was a dream to photograph.
The venue sat in Wailea, on the south side of Maui, where the light was warm, and the ocean felt close. Indeed, it was the perfect place for two college sweethearts to say “I do.” And thank you for trusting me as your Wailea Photographer.
Furthermore, Ben and Kylie met in college and were together for four years. They were young, sweet, and full of stories. Uniquely, both loved to read and write, so it wasn’t surprising that their vows sounded like pages from a novel. Every word brought smiles, tears, and laughter.
One of the most unique parts of their destination wedding at Gather on Maui was the personal touch they gave their guests.
In particular, each place card held a handwritten note from the couple. Every message was thoughtful and heartfelt. Surly, it showed how deeply they cared about the people who came to celebrate with them.
Also, Kylie and Ben planned everything themselves. In fact, they chose their colors, and made their own flowers. Surely, they shaped every detail with creativity and love. I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful wedding to photograph. With that said, even their officiant was a close friend, which made the ceremony feel warm and personal.
To begin, Kylie and her bridal party prepared for the day in the small room at Gather On Maui. The space was simple, yet filled with excitement and quiet emotion. As a Wailea Photographer, photographing the getting ready moments were some of my favorite. Opposite, the guys had a drink to calm their jitters.
Next was the ceremony, full of feeling and soft Maui light.
Afterward, I photographed the bridal party, who were full of laughs. Their joy was easy to capture. We later slipped away for sunset portraits of Ben and Kylie. Certainly, the sky glowed softly behind them, casting beautiful golden images.
Lastly, the evening ended with dancing, eating, and celebrating with family and friends. It was a perfect Maui wedding, and I was honored to have been their Maui Destination Wedding photographer.
All in all, Ben and Kylie’s wedding was one of a kind. Again, congratulations on tying the knot. May you continue to write the rest of your lives together.
