There’s something magical about a sunrise maternity portrait session in Wailea!
Notably, an empty beach, the stillness, colors, and the sense of new beginnings made White Rock Beach in Wailea, the perfect setting for Betty and Patrick’s photos. As they prepared to welcome their baby boy into the world, I was honored to capture their sunrise maternity portraits.
Firstly, we met around 5:45 am at White Rock Beach, in Wailea. Although I’m not an early bird, waking early has it’s perks-seeing sunrise with a hint of the world’s stillness. Not to mention, capturing my beautiful couples at times that works for them. Notably, the beach was completely empty, which is always a nice change. Uniquely, there were just the sounds of soft waves and views of the golden light.
As the sun rose over the ocean, it created the dreamiest glow, perfect for capturing the love and anticipation of Betty and Patrick’s sunrise maternity portraits.
Indeed, Betty looked radiant. One of Maui’s best hair and makeup artist, Love and Beauty, gave Betty her mama glow. As shown, Betty and Patrick were full of excitement, soaking in this special chapter of their story. During their session, we moved through three wardrobe changes, each brought a different soft vibe. First, Betty wore an elegant pleated soft baby blue dress to represent their boy. The second dress she wore was a dusty blue which matched the softness of the beach. And last but not least, the couple wore a playful outfit to exhibit their excitement of becoming first time parents.
For the final look, Betty and Patrick wore matching flamingo outfits—and brought along a tiny flamingo shirt for their son, plus a baby bottle to complete the scene. Also, it was the perfect blend of fun and heartwarming, showing just how ready they are to embrace parenthood. Of course, their sunrise maternity portraits were a hit. No doubt their family members will love the photos of their flamingo outfits.
Indeed, this sweet couple made the morning so enjoyable at White Rock Beach in Wailea.
Certainly, Betty and Patrick laughed, held hands, and dreamt aloud about their baby boy’s arrival. Their connection was easy and genuine, and it showed in every frame. Sessions like these remind me that photography isn’t just about pictures—it’s about freezing real emotion in time.
