Surprise Vow Renewal: Maui Family Photography
Maui is one of the most beautiful destinations to get married, but it may be even sweeter for a vow renewal. What a magical place to celebrate your marriage and commitment to each other. And show the world that you are still VERY MUCH in love.
I couldn’t contain my excitement after Natalie contacted me. Their extended family was visiting from Utah (8 adults and 7 grandchildren) to celebrate her parents’ 40th anniversary. She wanted to surprise them with an intimate Maui vow renewal and family photo shoot!
When the big day finally arrived, we all met at Makena Cove for a sunrise session. This spot is absolutely gorgeous in the morning! The jagged black lava rocks set against the gentle turquoise waves create a stunning backdrop. And let’s not forget the good-looking family who were the stars of the show! I was so blown away by how great everyone looked! They coordinated their outfits perfectly. The adults were dressed in white and blue, while the kids wore a matching tropical print. Natalie’s parents were appropriately dressed in white and completed their looks with a traditional Hawaiian haku and ti-leaf lei. Debra, Natalie’s mom, was speechless and her dad didn’t stop smiling the entire time. It was the cutest thing! There was so much emotion and happiness being shared!
During the ceremony, each of the kids said a few words and helped with the vows. Once it was over, we continued on with the family photo shoot. Each family took turns and I made sure to get pictures of grandma and grandpa with the grandkids! Towards the end, we let the kids run and play so I could capture some candid shots.
Everything went beautifully. It was such an honor to be able to celebrate this special occasion with this sweet family! Thank you for choosing me to be your Maui photographer!
