The Harris Family : Maui Family Photography

Up next on the blog…the Harris family! This beautiful bunch flew to Maui all the way from Ohio. It was such a pleasure working with them and it was nice to shoot on the west side of the island again (lately, a lot of my sessions have taken place on the south shore of Maui).

Brooke contacted me beforehand and mentioned that she and her extended family were all meeting up in Maui for vacation. It was pretty special to have all of them together and she wanted to capture some professional photos as keepsakes. We agreed to meet at DT Flemings beach in Kapalua for a morning session.

On the day of the photo shoot, the forecast showed some rain, but we crossed our fingers and hoped that it would hold off until after our session. I guess it worked because we didn’t see or feel even a tiny drop! In fact, it was absolutely gorgeous! The long stretch of white sand with the gentle waves crashing on shore created the perfect backdrop for beach portraits.

I started with some shots of the whole family together. Everyone looked so great in their navy blues, whites, and coral-colored outfits. When I shoot large groups, I like to break them up and give each individual family a mini session. So that’s what we did next. Jason, Jen, and baby Ryan were up first. Ryan was so adorable and totally stole the show! Allison and Daniel were too cute for words and actually got engaged the day after this shoot! Congrats to them! Lastly, I got some pictures of Mike and Karen (the parents). They were so sweet and seemed incredibly happy to have their family with them.
