The Scheel Family: Maui Family Photography

Being a professional photographer on Maui is so fun because it gives me the opportunity to meet families from all over the world. This week, it was the Scheel family from Canada.

When Sheri initially contacted me, she mentioned that they would be staying on the west side, but didn’t mind travelling anywhere on the island to get great photos. Besides, they wanted to explore and see as much of Maui as they could! Well, by now, everyone should know that the south side is my absolute favorite spot for sunset beach portraits. So we ultimately agreed on Keawakapu Beach in Wailea.

This beach is so pretty and offers a gorgeous backdrop for photos. The way the sunlight hits the lava rocks and reflects off of the water at dusk is nothing short of magical.

When I met the Scheel’s at the beach, I thought they all looked so great…a classic example of a picture perfect family. Sheri did an awesome job coordinating their outfits. I was able to capture so many good shots because this family was so easy to work with! Everyone had a wonderful time interacting with each other and most of the poses were candid and authentic. It was the cutest thing seeing them holding hands, hugging, and even dancing during the session. What a great end to my day!
