Cynthia + Enrique: Maui Maternity Photography

Next up on the blog we have a very special couple. These two are near and dear to my heart and it was such an honor for me to get to photograph them.

Cynthia and I have been friends since college (oh, the good ol’ days). We worked in a restaurant together in California. It’s so easy to look back and remember how care-free and fun life was back then!

Cynthia and Enrique moved from California to St. Louis, Missouri to finish their schooling and we went our separate ways. We’ve kept in touch since then, but I was over-the-moon excited when they gave me the news that they were coming to visit Maui! They asked me if I’d be able to shoot a couple’s session for them and I was like…OF COURSE!!!

But when they showed up, an even bigger surprise was revealed…

CYNTHIA WAS PREGNANT!!! My sweet friend was going to have a baby! So the couple’s session they scheduled was now turning into a maternity session! Words can’t describe how happy I am for these two. They are going to be amazing parents!

I wanted to make this shoot as perfect as possible, so we went and got a haku (flower crown) for Cynthia just to add some extra detail and a nice touch to their pictures. We headed to the beach for our sunset session and everything was working in our favor. The light breeze, the gentle rolling waves, the shimmer of light coming from the setting sun…It was all so swoon-worthy.

Of course, Cynthia and Enrique looked beautiful together. It was really cute to see the way he looked at her throughout the evening and she was just glowing. I loved the dress she picked out and Enrique was lookin’ all business-handsome with his gray slacks and long sleeved collared shirt.

Tonight was one of those nights where my job didn’t feel like work at all. It was simply a time to catch up with an old friend while capturing a special time in her and Enrique’s life.

Congratulations again you two! I cannot wait to meet that precious baby of yours!
