As Darren took Megan on what she thought was a vacation away from Orange County, California, little, did she know the real reason for their trip to Maui.
Surely, Darren had different plans up his sleeve. Generally speaking, planning a surprise proposal for the one you love can be very nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to keeping it a secret from your partner. So to help ease one’s mind, why not employ that skillful professional to guide you through everything. Indeed, your future partner will be ecstatic. Besides, surprising your lover with memories of a lifetime gets you major brownie points.
So, Darren did what was best for him and the love of his life; he hired a planner.
Kudos to Darren and the Yes Girl Events proposal planners because they did a fantastic job! The wedding planners did all the nitty-gritty work that include hiring a photographer, a videographer, picking the flowers, scouting a venue, assembling the props, and organizing their romantic dinner post proposal pictures. Indeed, I’m sure the list goes on.
As shown below, Darren and his team nailed the surprise proposal at Sugar Beach Events located in Kihei, HI. And of course, I was honored to be their Maui Photographer. The look of great happiness on Megan’s face confirmed Darren did the right thing. PHEW. High-five to you and everyone who partook in this awe-inspiring occasion.

Notably, when Darren got down on one knee to propose, Megan said yes to spending the rest of her life with him. Because of moments like this is why I love photography. It brings me joy to seize the love people have for each other. As shown below, under the sunset hour, I snapped some beautiful shots. Between a bit of play as Darren sweeps Megan off her feet to some intimate moments, they were happily in love as if nobody was present. Soon after their engagement photography session, Megan and Darren had a romantic dinner waiting for them. Bon Appetit!
All in all, I’m grateful to have been a part of such a fantastic team. This surprise proposal event was one for the books. Does anyone else have a particular proposal story? I’d love to hear.
